sedition act

The sedition act was passed around the start of World War One. It was passed by Congress and president  Wilson in 1918.

The sedition act states whom every shall willfully make false reports or false statements with intent to interfere with military or naval forces of the United States, or promotes the success of are enemies, will have to pay no more than $10,000 or be imprisoned for no more than 20 years or both.

I agree that people shouldn't say thing against there country especially in a time of war but i feel like this law could be used to stop people from saying what they think about the war and make people feel like there freedom of speech has been taken away but that's just my opinion.
